In this article I want to talk to you about a very special drug used by many people not just in the bodybuilding world, but also by those seeking to lose a little extra fat.
That’s right, today’s article will look at the amazing fat-burner Clenbuterol (Clenbuterol Hydrochloride), which I am sure many of you have already heard about if you’ve been training for some time.
What is Clenbuterol ?
The first thing I want to clear up is that Clenbuterol or Clen is not actually an anabolic or an androgenic steroid, but is in fact a thermogenic. The original purpose of this drug was to treat patients who suffer from chronic asthma, but it also has the additional benefit of being a great fat-burner. It is often compared to Ephedrine in this regard, although it is much more powerful.
Clenbuterol works by stimulating your Beta-2 receptors, which in turn causes your overall metabolic activity to increase. Once this process is active your body will start using stored fat for energy at a more efficient rate, which is why you lose fat. People taking Clen often report a noticeable increase in body temperature, which is a good indication that it is working. Besides increasing the metabolic rate, it also tends to decrease appetite in some users; this can be a good thing for people seeking to eat less although not everyone is affected in this way. Clen has also been shown to have anabolic abilities, although very mild. Since the more muscle you have the faster your metabolism will work, this only helps to make Clenbuterol a more effective fat burner.
It goes without saying that it’s these fat burning properties that make this drug so attractive, but there is also one more thing I wish to mention. Just like the decrease in appetite, this doesn’t affect everyone however most people taking Clen will experience a very strong energy rush after about 15 minutes of their dose. Others will experience the reverse, feeling drowsy instead. If you fall in the latter category you should take Clen before bedtime or at least after you have already trained, but otherwise you can also use it as a pre-workout. Of course the asthma-related effects of this drug are not completely wasted as it will also greatly improve your cardiovascular system.
This drug is popular both with men and with women, and you should be pleased to know that fake Clenbuterol is not very common; in fact, I have never heard of confirmed reports. This is probably due to the fact that it is very easy to find Clenbuterol for sale and it is quite inexpensive, making it less desirable to scammers. The most common form of Clen is its tablet form although there are also syrup versions of this drug.
Clenbuterol Cycle and Dosage
As already mentioned previously, this drug is a great fat burner and as such many people use it during their cutting cycles. Although not very common, there are people that take this drug solo but I would much rather take it in a stack personally. I had a lot of success while taking this drug alongside Testosterone and Trenbolone, so you might want to give that a go.
Now Clenbuterol is a very powerful stimulant and as such I highly suggest you gauge its effects on your body first. You do this by taking the first couple of doses on non-training days and far apart from each other, and note how this affects you. The typical dosage is 2 capsules spread out throughout the day, so this is a good place for you to start.
If you get to the point where 2 capsules are no longer having the desired effect, I would suggest cycling off Clenbuterol for about a month or two because you probably have overstimulated your receptors.
Clenbuterol Side Effects
Just like most other drugs in existence, Clenbuterol also has undesirable side effect which can be quite annoying. While it varies from person to person, Clen can cause one to feel jittery, to have insomnia, to have muscle cramps, and to develop cardiac hypertrophy, which is a very serious heart-related condition.
The jittery and insomnia effects are generally their worst in the first couple of days and then subside, while the muscle cramps can be mostly avoided by drinking extra water. Cardiac hypertrophy is dose dependent and will generally only effect people who abuse the drug. To this extent, you shouldn’t use Clenbuterol all year round but instead limit it to about 4 months of use per year.
